Today is a Monday! Luckily it wasn't raining, amazingly! It's been a very wet spring. Anyway, being a Monday signals the beginning of new weeks, or new things, etc.... I joined a friend of mine today to start a wellness body cleanse. Basically we are going vegan for 3 weeks, not going to be very hard for me. I'll just be going without animal, gluten and sugar, did I say for 3 weeks, 21 days? Yikes!! Seriously, I don't think it's going to be that bad.
So, starting my vegan day, went to the grocery store, then the natural food store and came home to have dinner. All is OK, until I begin trying out these snacks call Sticks & Twigs, while dinner is finishing. I was chewing away and felt something hard between my teeth. Low and behold, it was half of my tooth! Now, I have been putting off going to the dentist, because we haven't had dental insurance in a very long time. Looks like I'll be in the dentist chair tomorrow! Did I mention that I hate going to the dentist and I hate the bill even more!
I'm just a Mom, who.....runs her DH's (that would be Dumb, Dear, Distant, Deaf, Darling Husband - whichever fits the moment, usually Dear though) business, home schools her kids and hates cleaning house. Just some random thoughts on things...........

Just trying to live simple, so others may simply live.........
My son tells me to get with the times! He hates when I call him 'dude' since it's what other kids say and mom's aren't supposed to say that. Oh well! I've never tried to be hip is all I can say. My cell phone has a camera, imagine that? It's hardly been used and I don't pay for texting either. Just give me a phone that calls other people, DH is the same way. Although, he does use his camera on the job sometimes. I home school my kids, not because it's what I want to do, but because for them, it's the right thing to do and they actually are learning something. Hooray!! (I learn/re-learn right along with them and love that aspect of it.) Plus, we can take time off when we want, no worries of homework getting done and turned in on time, no fights at school, (well, unless you want to count sibling rivalry, lol), no suspensions, etc..... Now, if I can just get them to write their papers, hmmm!! Oh, for those that worry about the social aspect for the kids, home school kids tend to be more mature and handle themselves better, because they are socially acclimated from being around adults more than other kids. They do have friends though and get loads of play time, again since we don't have the usual worries that public/private schooled kids have.
I do most of my grocery shopping at the state run Farmer's Market, 1-because it supports the farmers in my area and other parts of the country, 2-it's just cheaper than the grocery store and 3-the produce last so much longer. The food doesn't sit in some warehouse at the distribution center before it goes to the buyers warehouse, then to the store. Anyway, it just doesn't last long from the store and usually loses it's flavor.
Since the down turn in the economy 3 years ago, we've been cutting back as best we can and have been trying to live simply. Not only does this help others to simply live, it helps us to do the same. I really want to move into a larger house, however, I'm very thankful that I have a roof over my head and it's mine. Granted, it's a bit cramped with 5 people and toys for boys that are so far apart in age, but we are making due. One day............
